2023 - The Tale Spinners
Our 2023 production was The Tale Spinners, based loosely on the Sleeping Beauty story but exploring themes of anger, causation, obsession and choice.
Why has the entire household of the palace been fast asleep for a hundred years?
And what exactly are the pay arrangements for the three guards who have been keeping watch for a century?
Cue the Tale Spinners, the storytellers who repair the broken stitches in time.
Unfortunately not all threads are so easily untangled, especially their own…
Our cast of 17 young people told this interwoven tale in a brand new venue; the Elim Christian Centre (4th floor of the Library building), 28 East Street, Papakura, which we transformed into a theatre for two weeks.
